Fashion Trends for Awards Season
March 15, 2017
Calling all fashion guru’s, the Red Carpets in 2017 are going to be hot ones! From sequins, to mermaid style, to contemporary pieces, and more, the 2017 most iconic looks will be like no other. Just as the award show itself is so unpredictable, so is the fashion that is going to be strutting the carpet. Here are some potential big looks this season, based on what was shown at the Golden Globes.
Top Designers
Starting with top designers this season, Valentino was among the top designers seen at the Golden Globes. Maria Grazia, who leads the style at Dior, will also be a popular one. The announcement of Oscar de La Renta being a top designer was no shock either. Among these names, you will always expect to see a few more designers that will break through as well. Keep your ears wide open for the answers to the repeating question “What are you wearing ”on the Red Carpet this season.
Top Accessories
Making a “statement” is what it’s about in 2017.. Statement earrings that come in all shapes and sizes are the hit this year. Particularly elongated, teardrop earrings will be the hopeful big hit. Necklaces make big statements, or chokers. Jessica Biel’s look last year made a statement with a layer of blinged out chokers and a gold linear necklace; this look is predicted to be the trend for this year’s fashion. A statement necklace, earring, or bracelet can add a nice touch to anything.
Top Dress Styles
Seems to be the year of elegant ball gowns, with Giuliana Rancic hitting the Golden Globes Red Carpet with an elegant floral ballgown. Floral is in as well, since the Sherri Hill collection in the Spring of 2016 dropped. Don’t overlook a nice, slim bodycon dress however. Some of the best looks were tighter, figure fitting dresses with a nice jewelry piece to tie it all together.
My Top Picks
Personally speaking, I am a big fan of the unusual, so dresses like floral big ball gowns are a hit for me. As well as the tighter fitting dresses with a nice choker to add! As far as jewelry, the choker look is my favorite, however a linear necklace with a nice teardrop is a nice touch as well.
Top Colors
You can’t go wrong with standing out, but the top colors this Red Carpet season are the bold and beautiful eggplant, a nice hint of purple and red put together, as well as taupe, which is a nice mix between champagne and off white.
Check out not just who wins on the stage this season, but the red carpet as well.
