Meet the 2016 Homecoming Court
October 27, 2016
How does it feel to be a Homecoming King/Queen, and what do you want to say to your King/Queen?
Hudson Hu(Senior): When they announced that we won King and Queen, I was really surprised because I was just not expecting it. But I felt really happy because it showed how welcoming and friendly Naz students are, and I feel really grateful for their support. To Kelsey, my Queen, I want her to know that she’s the best friend I could ever ask for because she always cheers me up when I feel stressed. I hope she can get into the college she likes, and I believe that she will become even more outstanding in the future!
As seniors, you are experts at Homecoming already, so what’s the one precious piece of advice on Homecoming you would give underclassmen?
Fallon Corcoran(Senior): My advice for underclassmen for homecoming is to enjoy the night as much as they can and make every moment count. Don’t worry about what other people may think about your outfits or your dance moves, just have fun because four homecomings are just not enough.
What was the most unforgettable part of this year’s Homecoming?
Angelica Contreras(Junior): The most unforgettable part of this year’s homecoming was the dance in general. Out of the three years that I’ve gone to homecoming this was definitely the most fun because of the the turnout and music. I created many unforgettable moments with friends that will be fun to look back upon.
What motivated you to go to Homecoming together? How did you guys get to know each other?
Flo only: were there any challenges when you invited Erin?
Erin Degnan(Sophomore): We have been dating for two months and were both planning on going to homecoming this year. We got to know each other all of freshman year through the classes we had together.
Florencio Ramirez(Sophomore): There were some challenges. I had her friend make the poster for me because I am terrible at drawing. So her friend made it for me and her friend accidentally left it at her house the day I was supposed to ask her. Her friend had her mom drop it off at the school around 7:40 A.M. and I thought I wasn’t going to be able to ask her that day but I did at lunch.
How was the overall experience of your first Homecoming dance? Was it what you had expected?
Abigail Moody(Freshman): The overall experience was great. I had so much fun and being on the court was such a surprise to me! It was somewhat what I expected. I knew there would be loud music, a bunch of a people, and a great time! I loved getting dressed up and taking pictures with my friends then hanging out for the rest of the night!
