To successfully play a musical instrument a person must have certain traits of being devoted, skillful and passionate about music. Senior Gabby Aguilera has all of these qualities, which is no surprise considering she has been ranked as the fourth best saxophone player in the whole state of Illinois as part of the Illinois Music Educators Associate band.
This success had to start somewhere, and for Gabby, it all started at the age of three, visiting her uncle to see him play saxophone. By third grade she began the official start of her musical career and ten years later, with her trusty Yamaha Custom Z saxophone, she is still hooked.
She keeps up with practice by having private lessons every week, taking part in solo contests, and of course being an active member of Nazareth’s band. With all this determination and devotion Gabby hits a high note in her musical endeavors.
When not rocking out on her saxophone, Gabby can be found participating in Youth Ministry and playing soccer with friends.
